Technical Info

Polaroid Transfer Photographs
Polaroid transfers are created by exposing Polaroid film (type 100, 104, or 669) and then allowing the emulsion to transfer onto paper other than the intended photo paper. The original images are usually taken as slides, using my Canon AE-1 or Olympus IS-1 35mm cameras. The slide is exposed to Polaroid film using a Vivitar Instant Slide Printer.

Other Photographs
For digital photos, my main camera is a Nikon D40. Older digital photos were taken with a Canon S-50.

Many of the photographs were taken with film cameras.
My film cameras include a Canon AE-1 (1981), an Olympus IS-1 (1990), and a Yashica Electro 35 (1973). Scanning to digital is done by the lab at the time of film processing.

I try to keep any Photoshop retouching minimal, but I'm not a purist. Photographers have retouched negatives and prints for as long as they have been shooting. Digital manipulation has put the power of retouching directly into the hands of any photographer willing to invest the time to learn. I generally limit my retouching to correcting color, adjusting contrast, and cropping.
